Danielle Micich

 Artistic Director: Force Majeure is a senior independent choreographer, director and performer based in Perth. Graduating from Victorian College of the Arts she relocated to Perth to perform with Buzz Dance Theatre for five years, toured internationally with SQUINT and was a recipient of an Australia Council Young and Emerging grant. Danielle was the Artistic Director of STEPS Youth Dance Company for four years and choreographed the WA Curriculum Council TEE Set Solo. In 2011 she performed in WISH with Humphrey Bower (winning awards for Outstanding Female Performer, Best Individual Performance and Members Choice 2011), was commissioned by Buzz Dance Theatre to create Plan B and was Associate Director for the opera, Into The Shimmer Heat by Nova Ensemble. Recently, she choreographed Standing Bird for Sally Richardson, Barking Gecko’s, Driving Into Walls (nominated for the 2012 Helpmann Awards, winner for 2013 Equity Guild Awards and touring to the Sydney Opera House in 2013) and was the Associate Director for FOOD a co-production between Force Majeure and Belvoir Theatre. In 2011 Danielle premiered a new dance theatre work, Shiver, at the Dolphin Theatre, which then toured regional WA in 2012 through new initiative, the CircuitWest Pilot Touring Model. This tour saw Danielle assist in creating and delivering an audience engagement strategy for seven regional towns that connected communities with the themes of Shiver. Also in 2012, Shiver was invited to perform at the Heath Ledger Theatre in Perth at the Australian Dance Awards. Danielle performed and co-devised MASKS with Night Train Productions for the 2013 Fringe World and is currently developing her new work Overexposed.
