Triple Bill: Sara Black, Anton & Tra Mi Dinh
Triple Bill - a bold and compelling evening that celebrated the power and diversity of Australian contemporary dance. Commissioned and presented by Catapult Dance Choreographic Hub, with support from Creative Australia and Create NSW, this ambitious performance brought together three new works by acclaimed choreographers Trà Mi Dinh, Anton, and Sara Black.
The Wild Ones
Directed by SARA BLACK, The Wild Ones is a visceral investigation into wildness and restraint. We are not separate from nature but its continuation- our instincts are not relics, but roots. Beneath every thought lies a drive, beneath every decision a pulse of instinct. Through raw physicality in this intimate choreographic work, The Wild Ones reminds us that our wildness is never truly gone.
I'll Carry It
I’ll Carry It is a poetic work by TRA MI DINH is a dance about the weight we hold- our burdens, our memories, our shifting capacities. Three dancers grapple with the clunky, tender, and sometimes absurd act of carrying: As our capacity to carry ourselves through hard times fluctuates, so too does our ability to lighten the load of others. Through a choreography of balance and imbalance, strain and release, the work wonders: how do we hold it all, and how do we carry each other?
Kyklopsia
Kyklopsia by ANTON is a mythic exploration of obsession, focus, and the cycles we cannot see ourselves trapped within. Inspired by the singular vision of the Cyclops, the work builds from primordial stillness into rigid structures, rhythmic repetition, and sensory distortion. Through rupture, dream, and catharsis, the body becomes both instrument and prisoner of its own patterns. Kyklopsia asks how we find balance again—on the other side of the loop.
