BRING A PICNIC AND ENJOY A FREE PERFORMANCE OF ACQUIST UNDER THE STARS!
Civic Park will be enlivened with a series of free public performances of the professional dance work Acquist by Catapult Dance Choreographic Hub, performed on a floating platform, in the park’s fountain. The evening also incorporates a First Nations dance work, to acknowledge audiences to the park, and performances by the King of Sing: Zackari Watt. Inspired by Margel Hinder's sculpture in the Civic Park fountain, the work is a visually striking, performed on a floating platform and within the fountain itself, this work is a monument to Newcastle’s history and dramatic coastline. Featuring six professional dancers, performing on a floating platform, and accompanied by an orchestral score, the performance makes use of Civic Park in a spectacular and memorable way. Acquist provides a unique, and family friendly event that inspires, and excites.
