THE SENIOR FLIPSIDE PROJECT OFFERS:
Intensive choreographic programs: for Senior (13 – 18 years) and Emerging artist (18 – 26 years ) Ensembles work collaboratively with professional choreographers on new contemporary pieces and the development of full length contemporary works in conjunction with emerging composers and visual designers. The Intensives are all devised to simulate the working processes of a professional contemporary dance company, through daily morning contemporary technique class, creative task development, choreography and rehearsals, working together to create new full length contemporary work.
This Emerging artist program bridges the gap between dance school and the tertiary sector providing young artists with strong contemporary foundations in technique, duo and partnering, improvisation and creative task building. The program prepares students for auditions into BA courses at WAAPA: West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, VCA: Victorian College of the Arts, QUT: Queensland University of Technology and beyond.
One of the components of the Senior program, is our commitment to performances and Festival with other youth dance companies across Australia and the globe. The senior Flipside participants are invited to performance, and attend festival and workshops events nationally and internationally.
This Senior Flipside Program currently holds rehearsals and creative intensives on Thursday evenings from 7.45pm – 9pm. Participants are encouraged to attend the Advanced Catapult Contemporary class from 6.30pm – 7.45pm as part of the program.
