Low Level is about embodying my totem the goanna and Mother Earth through dance. The beautiful bush land once being vibrant and a safe place, turning into a fight for survival. You will see annihilation to the tree representing land and the goanna staying low to the ground trying to hide from the destruction that’s caused from people. The catastrophic turn of fires lighting up around me, trapping me in with no way out feeling isolated and confused. The need for mother was desperate , my journey was going to continue one way or another through dance and the spirit of the goanna.

Lacey is  a Proud Kalkadoon Women from Mt Isa , Born on Wiradjuri Country , grew up on Darkinjung LandI have been dancing for 7 years now , I started my dancing career at Naisda Dance College for 6 and a half years..trained , performed and learned more deeply about my culture heritage. I created a Solo work from scratch at Naisda as apart of a unit in the Advanced Diploma in Dance. From there I have performed my solo at different locations and have also had another Wiradjuri Women perform it as a solo and a duo with me. I have had this beautiful opportunity to create what was a 4min work to a 20min work with the guidance of Catapult Choreographic Hub in Newcastle.
