TRIPLE BILL: Three dynamic new works by leading national and international choreographers.

Thursday 27th and Friday 28th August 2026 @ 7.30pm. (running time: approx 1 hour) A dynamic night of professional contemporary dance performance featuring three original short works created on Catapult's Professional Company by acclaimed choreographers Jack Ziesing, Tara Jade Samaya and James Batchelor. Experience three distinct artistic voices as they bring bold ideas, innovative movement and contemporary perspectives to the stage in an unforgettable evening of new Australian dance.

IMPACT CURATES: PERFORMANCE PROGRAM

Sunday 30th August @ 7.30pm (running time: approx 1.5 hours). A platform for bold new ideas, fresh voices and exciting contemporary performance from across Australia.<br /> This curated program brings together a selection of short works by independent choreographers and dance artists, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience a diverse range of artistic perspectives, creative processes and movement languages in one dynamic event.

IMPACT CURATES: DANCE ON FILM

Saturday 29 August @ 2.00pm (running time: approx1 hour). Dance on Film showcases a compelling collection of short dance films from regional, national and international artists, celebrating the unique relationship between choreography and film. Discover diverse stories, perspectives and creative approaches as movement comes alive on screen through this curated program of innovative dance on film.

TASTER WORKSHOPS

The Impact Festival will be hosting deep-dive masterclasses with 4 outstanding Australian professional artists: Nick Power, Jack Ziesing, James Batchelor and Tara Jade Samaya. The workshops are for emerging and professional artists. 1 day or 2 day workshop passes are available. Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th @ 9am - 11am

CAREER PATHWAYS

Hear from James Batchelor and Jack Ziesing on their extraordinary careers in dance. An in-depth conversation about the trajectory of their pathways through dance to both national and international stages. Gain valuable insights into artistic development, career sustainability and the opportunities and challenges of building a life in contemporary dance. Saturday 29 August @ 11.15am

DANCE ON FILM

An in-conversation discussion with nationally and internationally recognised dance film creators Sue Healey and The Samaya Wives. This engaging discussion will explore the role of dance on film within the contemporary dance ecology, examining how screen-based work expands audiences, creates new artistic possibilities and preserves choreographic practice. Discover how choreography and filmmaking intersect to create powerful new forms of storytelling and artistic expression. Saturday 29 August @ 4.00pm

ON THE COUCH

Join Nick Power, Artistic Director of Force Majeure, as Nick discusses his extraordinary choreographic journey. Hear about his creative processes, the works he creates, the influences that shaped his practice, and the evolution of Nick's career across the Australian dance landscape. An inspiring conversation with such a highly respected artist whose work continues to shape contemporary dance in Australia and beyond. Sunday 30 August @ 12.00pm

IN CONVERSATION

Join us for an informal conversation with Alisdair Macindoe about his work Plagiary and his remarkable career as one of Australia's most innovative contemporary dance artists. This artist talk will take place on stage immediately following the matinee performance of Plagiary x Catapult. Gain unique insight into the creative ideas, artistic influences and collaborative processes that have shaped Macindoe's acclaimed body of work. Sunday 30 August @ 4.30pm
